BUG: DVR widescreen recording played back with wrong aspect ratio

android-mobile

#1

I have the DVR beta running on Nvidia Shield.

When I record a programme that's broadcast in widescreen (i.e. most things) it plays back fine in the Web app but plays back squished from the sides on the Android app - i.e. the Android app seems to think it's 4:3.

I haven't yet had a chance to play it back on the Shield Android TV app.

Here's the programme's XML - you can clearly see that it's marked as aspectRatio="1.78" (i.e. 16:9) but the Android player seems to be ignoring that and using the width and height: width="704" height="576"

I have this issue as well on my Nvidia Shield TV. It's only started doing it this week. It was fine before.

I have the same problem dvds copied to wd cloud playback via 16gb NVidia shield to sony 55 inch tv all films are 4.3 format cannot find anything on shield or tv to adjust and I'm not technical enough to do above

In your case it's probably down to the DVD ripping software you're using.
