# Can encoding/decoding HW acceleration split devices?

If I build a linux PMS with an Intel i7-10700, and an Nvidia GPU, would HW encoding and decoding be split between CPU HW decoding, and GPU HW encoding? Or would it only look at a single device to handle one or the other?
