Cannot add Looney Tunes correctly

Add the year in parentheses to the folder name, after the the show title. https://support.plex.tv/articles/naming-and-organizing-your-tv-show-files/

Are these mp4 / m4v files? And if so, did you enable the checkbox “Prefer local metatags”?

Ok I seemed to have fixed it:

  • Removed all shows
  • Did the Dance
  • Brought back ONLY Looney Tunes
  • Indexed
  • Physically fixed mismatch to force to old Looney Tunes
  • Brought others back

All is working now, I got all 3 shows cataloged

Your issue as said above is naming. Looney Tunes as a folder name will confuse the matching algorithm. I use Looney Tunes {tvdb-72514} but the Plex standard recommended is Looney Tunes (1930) {tvdb-72514} by including the tvdb id in the folder name you tell the scanner what to match to, avoiding any issues.

Ah interesting, seems like that was likely the solution all along to get Plex to distinguish, thanks

Filebot does a wonderful job of sorting that all out and categorizing the Looney Tune titles.

Template response for all naming issues:
If you want to save yourself a lot of time I would recommend using Download - tinyMediaManager and use:
Episode format:
${showTitle} - S${seasonNr2}E${episodeNr2} - ${title}

Folder format:
${showTitle} (${showYear}) {tvdb-${tvShow.ids.tvdb}}/Season ${seasonNr2}

as the new name format.

tinyMedia is a good app but requires a yearly subscription and offers no lifetime. Basic is ok but really would want the pro.

That is why I linked to the v3 page. There is no subscription for that version.
