Cannot connect plex server from Samsung Smart Tv to Qnap ex server

Hi all,

Recently, I have installed PMS in Qnap NAS and plex app at samsung smart TV.
Using a same wifi network, using same account as intruction from plex for the connection. I can connect NAS with DLNA and i can navigated file within NAS however if I am using plex app from samsung TV it say it cannot connect because it is offline the error screen still show name of my NAS however it cannot connect to because of offline

I set up manually ip address with 192.168.1.65 as i could find from q finder and leave port as default …

Anyone can help me to connect nas from samsung tv ??

Many thanks

Did you try to manually specify a server on the Samsung under advanced settings? Is remote access setup properly and showing green under remote access on your server?

I set it up properly however, it doesn’t work … I saw other tread talking about the version of server what I am using . because I am using TS420 qnap server it is 0.9.15.3

and Samsung one is 3.1.0(3.8.0) …

Alot of people once they upgrade Tizen’s(samsung app) to latest, it is saying this error messages…

I really hope this can fix…

PMS version 0.9.15.3 is too old to connect to anything outside your home and it cannot communicate with any of the newer apps. It cannot connect to Plex.tv and communicate with it. When this happens, the app does not see your server because Plex.tv does not recognize your server.

The operations team was forced to make changes at 1.5.3. At that time, everything began moving to the new communications protocol. It was unfortunate but they could not support two different protocols at the same time. As a result, over time, all older versions of PMS would eventually stop working.

I encountered this a short time ago with another user. At this point, a more current version of PMS is required. If you cannot run a more recent version on your NAS, then you will need to let your NAS be the NAS it is and host PMS elsewhere. Sorry.
