# Cannot hide items in Smart Collections

Steps to reproduce:
1. Set preference on Library \> Advanced to “Show Collections and their Items” as the default.
2. Use the Advanced Filters view to show a subset of programs in the Library.
3. Use this view to create a Smart Collection.
4. Set preferences on the new Smart Collection to “Hide items in this collection”, overriding the Library’s default.
Expected Behavior: The collection should be visible in the Library view, but the items that make up the collection should be hidden now.
Actual Result: The items continue to be listed in the Library view. The override of the Library’s default setting for Collections is not working.
Now, delete the test Smart Collection and make a normal Collection containing the same titles the Smart Collection had.
Try the same Collection view option (“Hide items in this collection”).
Result: Works as expected. The Collection is visible, but the items are now gone on the library screen for this Collection.
