Cant access my NAS files from Firestick, can from laptop

Hello.

I am running Plex via a Firestick connected to a Synology NAS

I recently moved house and set my NAS up with no issues. I even checked Plex (I think) and it seemed to work okay.

Then one day it could connect to my NAS so I could not access my files.

What is strange however is that I can access them via Plex via my laptop and play them no problem.

I have checked my “authorised devices” and I found two showing, one being my laptop and the other being my NAS. It shows I have not accessed my NAS for a month, whereas my laptop/web account was accessed daily.

I have deleted the laptop/web account as uninstalled everything on my firestick and reinstalled, but every time I log in on I still cannot “find” my files.

How, how do I reconnect to my NAS?

Should I delete it (NAS server) in ‘authorised devices’ and re-find the folders such as //Plex/NAS/Movies etc?

Thanks

Plex Media Server is running on the Synology NAS, correct?

Are your movies/shows/etc located in the /Plex shared folder?

If yes to both questions, you need to move your media to a new location.

Locating media in /Plex will not cause the issues you have with the Firestick.

However, it will cause other problems down the road.

Suggest you read the two support documents linked below. They have information regarding media organization and other useful information when running Plex on a Synology. It will save you some future headaches.
