Can i just add that it would be nice if plex could alter the way this works so that apps can verify themselves if connected to the same network as the server. I.e. if my tv and plex server are both on my home network, its kinda expected thst they will continue to work without having to re-authenticate.
E.g. last week my broadband went down, so no netflix/prime access, ok no problems i have plex too. Oh great, that doesnt work either even though on my own network!!
Hmm, seems the certificate for plex.tv was renewed recently (3 mar) and happens to be using tls 1.2 now - so, erm perhaps my “haha” comment earlier might be worth a double check anyway?
What does the green tick & “solution” on your post mean?
You have confirmed and reproduced the issue and have a working solution? (Can you provide an ETA for delivery and details of the problem?)
Sorry for the interruption folks. A deploy ended up going to the wrong target and once redirected we were fighting against caching and even locally I was getting different results on my devices vs computer. It looks like everything is working again and you should be able to link your TV again.
If you’re still having issues please try unplugging your TV for a minute then plugging in again before retrying. If the issues persist please let me know.
Plex need to fix this because it has nothing to do with your settings, im now in pain with cancer sat with a laptop on my legs rather than laid comfortable watching tv.
Multiple threads on the exact same issue are not helpful, redirecting everyone to a single issue is exactly what should happen and why it was done.
For LG webOS users the fix is out and baring any caching is working, I see some reports here that it still wasn’t working for them, if that’s the case it should be as soon as the caches clear.
For LG Netcast users we’ve deployed a fix and I’ve reached out to get the cache for it cleared ASAP to speed things up, but at the moment that hasn’t be done. the cache has been cleared.
I unplugged the TV for 30 seconds.
Then uninstalled & reinstalled the Plex app.
Language on the start page was still wrong (…still in Spanish for whatever reason). But, if you can make it to the Link Code (bottom right button), the connection seems to be working again.
Once the app starts, the language returns back to the device default (…back to English for me).
