# Cant update server from 1.23

Server Version#: 1.23  
Player Version#:

I’m trying to update from 1.23 I can see that the app goes down for a few seconds, then comes back online but its still on 1.23.

I tried to manually apply but it fails to update too.

I wold hazard a guess this is because 1.23 is ~5 years old. You may have more success doing incremental upgrades, working your way up to the latest version.

I download 1.42 from unofficial site, always scary even though i scanned it for virus.

Then I could update and after that update to latest
