I bought a lifetime Plex Pass for full price a number of years ago, and I have to say that I absolutely hate the user interface now.

I use Plex to stream my movies and TV shows from a NAS using a windows machine as the server. I have to go through 5 or 6 steps to get back to the tv series I was watching, or to resume a movie. Watchlists don’t show where you are on the list or what has been watched. I don’t want any of Plex channels, I want to see my content library organized and easy to access like it used to be.

Is there a way to show only my media from my server, and live tv channels from my own tuner like before, please let me know. If not, and you have found a better alternative, please let me know.

thanks!

You can disable the online media in your account settings: [https://app.plex.tv/desktop/#!/settings/online-media-sources](https://app.plex.tv/desktop/#!/settings/online-media-sources).

I have all of the online media sources disabled. I will take some screenshots if it’s possible to upload them. I just want to see my media server and it’s contents first and foremost when I click on “Home”. And something like “continue watching” or at least the ability to pick up where I left off if watching a series.

thank you, I have started to search for an alternative, just wanted to see if anyone here may be using one for the same reason… but they could all be gone if they switched 🙂

Have you pinned the desired libraries to your home page?

Continue Watching should appear on your home page. If not, you might try resetting the customization for the Plex client you are using. For example, with Plex Web, Settings → Plex Web → General → Reset Customizations.

You may also want to select the “Remember Selected Tab” option in each client. You will need to re-pin the desired libraries to your home page.

There are additional controls in Settings → Manage → Libraries. Move your mouse over a particular library and select Manage Recommendations. You can choose what appears on the home page, recommended page for a given library, etc.

I do not use the LiveTV/DVR capability, so not sure how that appears in the various clients. I believe it is possible to pick favorite channels and have them appear at the top of the list.

I’ve disabled everything except for my content.

If you give someone a specific example about what you’re seeing and where maybe someone can help you

In john.kalas\_gmail.com’s case I think he might be watching items out of his watchlist instead of his regular library.

I’ve only ever used that for a movies but if you only watch part of it, that movie does not get added to your continue watching

There’s no way to disable the continue watching row on the home screen unless you purposely exclude every library from the home screen. I doubt that happened by accident

Resetting the customizations, managing recommendations, and pinning only what I wanted to see seems to have fixed the issues and made it much more usable. The Continue watching is also showing again. Thank you everyone!
