# Change live TV channels using number keys?

Hi,  
I have been running a home Plex server (linux - ubuntu) for several years along with Nvidia Shield TV clients around the house.  
In my experience when accessing Plex on a Shield TV client the numbers keys (on the remote) do not work as one would anticipated, it is not possible to change the live TV channel by punching in the number keys for a new channel.  
That is to say the Plex client does not recongnise the number keys being pressed.  
Note - I am using a Sofabaton BT remote and the number keys are functional within the Shield TV when not using Plex.  
Is it possible to force the Plex client to recognise the number keys - for live TV channel changing?  
If not, then can this be fixed for the future?
