# Checking for Updates

My server is stuck. Is there something specific to server updates that I need to verify isn’t being blocked?

Ok… If updates aren’t showing up for that build, you might try manually updating from the Plex site:
[https://www.plex.tv/media-server-downloads/](https://www.plex.tv/media-server-downloads/)
I also saw that they said automatic updates will be down for a few days, so it could be related to that.
" **Plex Media Server 1.15.1.791 is now available to everyone**
Note: Auto-update will be disabled for a few days. In the meantime, you can grab the new version from our [Downloads page](https://www.plex.tv/media-server-downloads/)."

I’m having the same issue, but I’m on Ubuntu 18.04 Tried removing plexmediaserver and its metadata etc at /var/lib/plexmediaserver -\> then reinstalled, but I still have the same issue.
**apt-cache policy plexmediaserver** tells me
```auto
plexmediaserver:
Installed: 1.14.1.5488-cc260c476
Candidate: 1.14.1.5488-cc260c476
Version table:
*** 1.14.1.5488-cc260c476 100
100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
```

There’s something beyond just not being able to update wrong with my server. It’s played episodes out of sequence (that I know I have named correctly) and it just refused to play something from the beginning (instead starting in the middle again).

What makes you want to delete your entire server in order to update it?
The apt repository refers to the public release channel of Plex. PMS v1.15.1 was only released publicly less than 1 day ago… it might take a moment for the repository to pick it up.
If you desperately want to have the current release… go to the download page, download the latest release (public or beta) and install it manually.

I didn’t know it was released less tha a day ago, I was just rebuilding the Plex server in case it was corrupted etc. Either way it doesn’t take long at all 🙂

Oh I don’t mind waiting for them to update the repo, i prefer to get it via there instead of manually updating. I used to do that, and it doesn’t really net me any benefits. Thank you for the tip 🙂

I this still an issue - is auto-update server still suspended? I have the same exact problem as first post. (my screenshot would look identical, version and all)
However, I was also wondering if the Plex team has stopped building i386 builds for CentOS 7.
This is my info:
model name : Intel® Core™2 Duo CPU T7500 @ 2.20GHz
Architecture: i686
CPU op-mode(s): 32-bit, 64-bit
Byte Order: Little Endian

CentOS Linux release 7.4.1708 (AltArch)

My latest install was this RPM back on Jan 1st (a day off work of course):

plexmediaserver-1.14.1.5488-cc260c476.i386.rpm
When I go to the downloads page I no longer find “.i386.rpm” versions of the server. Were these builds discontinued?

under Linux --\> Fedora / CentOS / SUSE - Intel/AMD 32-bit
the download is an “i686.rpm” now. Version “1.15.1.791”
I believe installing the .i686 RPM should work on my version of CentOS, but will changing from an i386 to an i686 build cause other issues - like messing up my database or anything?
Should I just try a manual install of the i686?
Should I yum remove the i386 version of plex first - and will that destroy my database?

UPDATE: I just tried upgrading plex using ‘yum localinstall’ with the i686 RPM before going complicated.
Update went flawlessly.
Now checking for updates works just fine and I have the latest version installed and working.
