Windows 11
A few days ago, I updated to the new build version of Plex for Windows 1.42.1.2926-415b0e14
I am an experienced user of Plex for Windows.
It appears a new bug has crept into Plex for Windows and it causes the entire program to freeze.
You have do CTRL Alt Del and manually kill Plex, then reboot program.
I’m not sure if this is specific to Windows 11 ?
Steps to replicate BUG
Select Edit
Select Poster or Background
Enter a URL and Drag and Drop are working OK
However, if you select Choose an Image, the Open File Explorer window is not functioning normally.
Broken items:
If you try to press the Cancel button to close window, nothing happens.
If you try to press Red X to Close in top right corner, nothing happens.
If you grab hold of the vertical windows sliders, they won’t move and are locked. But using the wheel on your mouse does work and allows sliding vertically.
However, if you let it sit there and do nothing for more than a minute, eventually control comes back for Items 1, 2 & 3 and everything is back to normal.
This is the same issue I am facing as well. It only occurs on the Plex Windows App. It does not occur via the Web Based Plex App.
Much like Doctor_Zen, you cannot close out of the box and have to hard shut down Plex to remove it. This is happening on Windows 10 for me.
The other thing that is broke that Doctor_Zen does not mention above is that you cannot change the view from small icons to medium to large or to list view. That is frozen as well.
I have the same Server Version and the same Plex Windows App Version as Doctor. It was not occurring prior to this new release.
I wonder how we can get the attention of someone that works for Plex ???
This is the only way to report BUGs in Plex apps.
It would be nice if someone from Plex could acknowledge this thread.
Thank you.
Pretty disappointed that nobody from Plex has acknowledged this BUG yet.
It appears there is no other way to let them know about this.
The BUG is still there in latest build version.
