Chromecast crashing 2 minutes into playback

Everytime I try to cast to chromecast either from iOS app or chrome, playback is crashing on chromecast after almost exactly 2 minutes. Plex Player for Windows and web app works fine. I thought audio transcoding from ac3 5.1 to aac might be the cause, so I converted video in handbrake a now it seems to be working fine. However I played different movie also with ac3 5.1 audio and it didn’t crash so now I’m not sure what was the cause in the first place.
Is it problem with plex or chromecast?

Hey!

Any news about this issue? I got exactly the same problem with at least two movies. Both are H.264 and EAC3 (stereo and 5.1). Only the Chromecast is affected (everything works fine with the webapp).

PMS version: 1.18.5.2309 and at least one version before (Windows)
Player version: 7.27.0.15018 (Android) / 6.6 (iOS)

having the same issue h.264 and 5.1 crash exactly at 2 minuts. tried with different chromecast 1 and 2 version same result.

No news unfortunately. I just convert to dual channel bit it’s a pain in the ass. I dont think anyone at plex cares.

Having the exact same problem with a H.264 movie with 5.1 audio… Plex media server and Android app are both fully updated. Other movies play fine.
