Claim server after restart of device

Server Version#: 1.23.4.4805

Wiped Shield and setup PMS again, It has been adding media for a couple of days (big library). Day 3 PMS became unreachable.

Restarted Shield (via remote control) but server was no longer part of account. Clicked on “Claim Server” and was able to connect again but now I am not sure if I should keep putting time into completing the setup or if something has gone majorly wrong.

With a collection that large, you should not use the Shield as a Plex server. It was not made for this. It lacks storage large enough to hold metadata for a large number of library items.
The Android operating system makes it difficult to access or extend the internal Plex data storage.

I have been previously advised of the Shield not being sufficient but using an external 1TB SSD for metadata and NAS for storing all media should suffice?

Since wiping the Shield and external SSD (I think the DB was corrupt) it is only using 149GB for metadata with about 50% media scanned.

I don’t want to drop $1k+ on a NUC until it can at least transcode 1 4K 265x 10bit > 1080p. Still the Shield is better than the Synology NAS!
