When I create the collections for my movies, I then have to go into each collection & add the metadata for the collection using [https://www.themoviedb.org/](https://www.themoviedb.org/). Is there a way to have Plex automatically add the metadata to the collections, the same it does for movies & TV shows?

Plex will download metadata (poster, description) for automatically created collections.
There’s a suggestion to allow matching manually created collections, so they can linked with a collection listed on TMDb.

> The Movie DB has entries for Collections, such as: It might be a nice feature if one could Match a collection using the TMDB ID number. It would allow Plex to grab descriptions and cast information. This might be more difficult for Music libraries. Musicbrainz has ‘Release Series’ that function like Collections, but I don’t know how complete they are.

How do you automatically create collections?

You can configure your library to automatically create collections if you have more than a configurable number of their items (e.g. 2 or 3).
