# Controlling volume on Plex HTPC with Apple Remote

Server Version#: 1.41.0.8994  
Player Version#: 1.67.1  
Setting the volume directly with the simple aluminium Apple remote, using up/down buttons during playback, is still impossible. It would be far more convenient than the actual mapping of these buttons (skip forward/backward). But it cannot be set with a new input map json because this would also map the up/down buttons outside the playback mode where they need to act normally. Would it be possible to get this reasonable feature at last on this great software?
