you’re a hero man! it really worked! disabling server’s push notification will fix CPU issue!
I see some improvements now (not sure when it changed, running the latest Windows app and the latest plex server beta), but it is still not good enough.
The Plex for windows is now using about 8-10% CPU just when idle. Hovering over coverarts makes it jump instantly to around 30% cpu, and playback is between 25-30% cpu.
Comparing this to the HTPC Plex app, which is:
idle: around 2%
moving selector over cover art: 15-20%
playback: 12-18%
Not sure why the notification setting would affect the desktop player, but I also have some shared servers that I don’t control, so that is not really a solution to the problem.
