I might be the only weirdo who wants this, but I would like to be able to have a Plex channel or playback option that plays content from my libraries like a TV channel. So I could either make a playlist, or pick a channel by genre, and Plex would pick something that fits the bill and start playing it at a random point in the file. At the end of the file, pick another random item from the list and start it at the beginning. Like, I want to watch an action movie, but I don’t really care about picking one in particular and I don’t want to sit through the opening credits of a movie I’ve seen 5 times. It would be like turning on the TV to see what’s on, but coming from my own library. I looked into plugin/channel development, but it sounds like a channel can’t really play back content from libraries. Is that true, or could a channel be set up to do something like this? ---
