# Creating Poster/Thumbnails.

Hi,
Quick question. When I create a Poster (An Jpeg I created), if I delete the jpeg for that poster, will Plex lose the poster image?

No.
‘Sidecar’ posters are copied to plex’s data folder and stored there.
If you want to exchange an already existing poster, I recommend you to:
1. copy the `poster.jpg` besides the video file (or overwrite an existing poster.jpg with the updated one)
2. edit the movie and ‘upload’ the new poster
Plex supports [multiple sidecar posters](https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/200220677-Local-Media-Assets-Movies "multiple sidecar posters"). Maybe you want to use this ability, in case you want to switch back later to the old motive.
