# Custom section backgrounds

Back in the old versions of Plex Media Server with the old Media Manager, you had the option to set a custom background, that was shown in your Plex Clients in the main menu. In all recent clients you'll get a randomized slideshow instead.

I think this is pretty annoying and I like to have static images in the home/main menu.

There is a little workaround/hack to get this old feature back, but it isn't supported by every skin, though. When take a look into the database of Plex, you'll notice that the column to set this custom background is still there:

When you put the path to an image there, it will appear in the section properties on&nbsp;[http://localhost:32400/library/sections](http://localhost:32400/library/sections)

The Plex Aeon Skin was still supporting this old feature, but with the new "Plex Home Theatre" this stopped working and my home screen looks like that now:

For older versions of the Plex Client (with Aeon Skin), you can get the custom backgrounds by setting:

- Settings \> Appearance \> Skin \> Enable Global Slideshow -\> off

- Settings \> Customize \> Advanced \> Home \> Use Fanart Slideshow -\> off
