# Custom Thumbnails for Extras

Does anybody else think it would be super cool to be able to use custom thumbnails for extras? I’ve tried mp4 files with cover art embedded and using a separate image file sharing the same name as the extras file but it didn’t work. Some of my extras have plain black thumbnails or a blurred transitioning image.

There’s an existing feature suggestion discussing an option to edit the metadata of local extras, including an option to modify the poster/artwork. I suggest you comment/vote in that thread in order to avoid distracting or cannibalizing votes.
