Hi there,

I tried to make use of the discogs agent for a long time now and never managed to get it to work.
The gracenote agent works like a charm, but misses a lot of obscure, limited editions and other independant releases.
I installed discogs plugin and it shows correctly in the agents lists.

But, hm, I never managed to get it to work. Neither did I find a way to check if the agent actually do something as I never found any logs anywhere showing agents output.

I am 100% sure discogs is not working, as I can find covers and info on discogs that, when I add new content, do not show up in my music collection.

Do any ninja have advices or could help me getting this to work ? I really want to be able to use gracenote in priority, and then fallback to discogs to grab most of the missing covers and stuff.

Thank you guys !

> Hi all, I’m new to Plex and, like a lot of other users on this board, I found that music scanners/agent were not very efficient. After playing a while, I managed to get Plex read my ID3 tags correctly so all albums and tracks are correctly...

It doesn’t look like the creator ever got it working right and hasn’t provided any updates since the original release. I doubt you’ll be able to get this working unless you know python and want to try fixing the agent.

Ah geez this is so sad.
Only Discogs do contain almost all existing, obscure, limited press albums.
It would be dope if Plex team had some resources to add fallback options to complete the Gracenote data when missing.

Also some other things should be added to make plex really optimal for music enthusiasts, like a way to filer music albums on duplicates (for people with large collections) or to integrate a google image search option in the cover menu…

Just tell me if you need some Product Manager support 😉 I’d be happy to help 🙂
