# DNS errors

Server Version#: 1.26.0.5715  
Player Version#:

Installed on Windows 11. Both Plex and Windows updated to latest.

My event log is full of event id’s 1014:  
Name resolution for the name 192-168-1-24.abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz012345.plex.direct timed out after none of the configured DNS servers responded. Client PID 1152.

Plex works though as before.  
The errors are created without using Plex.  
Any idea how to get rid of them?  
A DNS lookup takes a while to time out. My main worry is system stability and performance.

This domain name is used to determine whether “DNS rebinding protection” is active. Which means that these error messages are of real no concern.  
If you can, you should tell whichever DNS resolver is running in your home network, that it shall disable the protection for the domain `plex.direct`.
