I have the lifetime membership.. but sometimes PLEX makes me so happy I just want to throw some extra cash at it... but I can't seem to find a Donate option, just membership options. What do you recommend? Is there one and I am missing it?    Thanks! ---

I considered that, but there is overhead with merchandise and I'll be receiving "stuff." If we donate, there is little overhead (more $ for them to use) and I won't have to throw/give away stuff later.  ---

> You can also buy memberships for friends and family... I've considered that as well. I had an issue with this because it is technically losing business for PLEX. It can also skew their numbers. So if the people I do buy for don't re-up or don't actually use it then their user data is not as meaningful.  That is why I am hoping PLEX can suggest what they would rather have me do?  I also thought about donating to the developers of the apps I use too. I can do that, but I can't donate to PLEX directly... or buy something that has low overhead for them and no physical stuff for me to own.  If PLEX sold media: ebooks, movies, tv shows, etc.. I would be inclined to buy from them instead of Amazon VOD/Kindle/Audible or VUDU like I do now to "own" the digital rights for specific PLEX content :-) ---

Hi All I purchased a lifetime subscription and use Plex as a server admin. Love it (except for some bumps and concerns about future direction). I’m regretting the lifetime subscription though, because I feel myself and others doing that is reducing forecasted long term Plex revenue, and as such Plex is SPRINTING into the world of ad-supported media (much to my dismay). I feel my lifetime subscription is contributing to the problem. I was thinking of a simple option that we could provide for members to “donate” to Plex to advocate for the features we really want. So the feature might look like this: - Add a new, recurring Plex subscription type called “Super Fan” - Make it totally optional, with no features behind it. - Make it have no effect on the current monthly/yearly/lifetime tiers - Allow the subscriber to opt in/out as needed, and setup recurring payments as desired (a “pay what you think” model) - **Most importantly** , provide a simple checkbox list of “How do you use your account” so that analytics can be pulled behind why people are trying to throw extra money at Plex. - Make it easy for folks to add this “add-on” subscription to existing accounts. I think a feature like this might provide valuable insight to Plex into what Plex users REALLY want (as opposed to just feature votes on a forum that have no real significance), as well as a way for users to advocate their specific use case. Good lord… this was suggested 7 years ago ? Ha. Well, happy to revive it and see if it gets anywhere. Thanks for the feature request thread merge, mods. My request differs slightly in that I want to donate AND advocate; where advocating can be accomplished in a feedback checklist or something (aka “How do you use your account?” or the like) when setting up the donation.
