I'm using the brilliant plugin called Dreamplex for Dreambox for streaming movies to my Dreambox 800HD SE. The version I'm using is 1.01. But I'm having problems when streaming. The problem occurs maybe 50% of the movies I try to stream. This is the scenario:

1. Start the stream of a movie
2. It can go on for many minutes, but often it happends after 4-5 minutes
3. The picture freezes, but the sound goes on for about 20-30 seconds
4. The Dreambox needs to be turned off with the physical button, it's not responding to the IR control
5. The log file for the Dreamplex plugin is empty (also, no log on the pc)

When I'm using the "Direct local playback" function of the plugin, it works much better. But I've experienced that it suddendly "jumps" out of the plugin and back to the tv.

Does anyone have the same problems, or does someone have any solutions for this?

Thanks for the tip! I will try to configure the swap :)

But, i'm wondering about one thing with the Direct Local. I'm using version 1.03, and in the server settings it is 2 settings under Direct Local:

1. Overwrite with remote path part
2. Overwrite with local path part

Nr 2 seems ok. But i'm not sure about nr 1. What do you mean by this? I'm using a PC as Plexserver. Should I share a folder on the PC that is used as a "temp" folder for Plex or something?

Edit:

I've set the logging to Normal, but it seems like the dreambox is totally dead when this happends, and no logging about the error is written.

you need both seetings to ensure, that direct local is running.

maybe this explaination helps:

**"Direct Local"**

**Advantages** : The medias are played directly from E2."

**Prequesits** : This mode works if your plex library is mounted on your Dreambox and accessable."

**HowTo** : You can use Windows or Linux based Plexserver."

Sample content for Library location: movies | tvshows | music"

Media location in Plex for Windows (sample): C:\path\of\library\root\movies\movie.mkv"

OR

Media location Plex for Linux (sample): /path/of/library/root/movies\movie.mkv"

Media location on the Dreambox (sample): /media/net/mountpoint/movies\movie.mkv"

As you can see movies/\movie.mkv is identical."

According to this just set up the following:"

Remote Path Part \>\>\> **C:\path\of\library**** \root\ or /path/of/library/root/"**

Local Path Part \>\>\> **/media/net/mountpoint/"**

if you want to have your logs even after restart you can change the location of the file in the settings to somewhere on your hdd. then you should have also a former\_dreamplex.log after a crash.

another pissbility is to start the box via telnet:

```
init 4; sleep, enigma2
```

this will show everything in the console. so if the image get stuck you see in realtime everything happening on your box. the advantage of this solution is, that you also see e2 messages.

hope this helps

Thanks mate! I'll look into this when my baby's not crawling up on my feet ;)

Btw, I have the log set to my hdd, still, no log on the crash.

I've tried many things now. Still, I can't get the "Direct local" to work.

I've mounted the shared folder successfully as "/media/net/pc", and it's working perfect to watch movies from the Enigma2 mediaplayer. But I'm having troubles with the Dreamplex.

I've share the folder "G:\Video" - this is the root for my media. Subfolders here are: "Tv serier" (tvshows) and "Filmer" (movies) and a few more.

I'll post in screenshots from my setup below, and also paste in the log from when I try to start a Direct local file.

The log:

hi mate, ive got almost a very very similar structure as you have and have the exact same issue you have. Did you manage to figure it out? Mapped and working ok via media player but plex throws the error.

No. I've uninstalled the plugin. For now, I'm just using the mediaplayer. Maybe I'll give it another go when the plugin is updated. But please write a post in this thread if you manage to get it working, ok? :) Good luck!

Tried a few things couldn't get it working. I think its a windows related issue, best place would be probably report it on the github or I saw some other german speaking thread on google where someone has a similar issue.
