# Dumb question if I disable shield plex server

Thinking of putting plex server back on my pc, if i simply turn plex server off on the shield, will it remove everything? I havent went there or tried it so maybe theres a warning when I do it. But just curious. I assume its not something I can turn off and back on and be right back where I was? I would probably lose all shares and metadata and have to redo setup?

The difference would be if you want actually **MOVE** the server from the Shield —\> to the PC or create an entirely new server on the PC

Creating a new server on the PC wouldn’t affect what the Shield has on it. Moving it, of course would mean “removing it” from the Shield and placing it on the PC

Yeah basically just wanting to make sure if I shut it off and later want to use it again, if I lose everything should I ever decide to turn it back on…
