Hi Newloran2 (& everyone) !
I could get both logs as you said : v1 and v2-b03 (march 2014).
One thing very strange is that in v2-b03, I looked at the parameters; i saw that the IP@ of the PMS was wrong (192.....2 instead of .3).
So I tried to change it - without success : each time i clicked on the "save" button, the previous IP@ came back...
???
My problems :
- in v1 I have the error message : "the area ... no xml (404)
- in v2 I have the php error message
I send you the logs via MP I presume ?

OK, I made a ticket in GitHub, with my most recent log, regarding the reset issue.

Also, with my issue about the filenames (from my previous post), my complaint is that the actual filename is not even being shown in the info box.
For example, a file that is actually named:
Video/TV/Banshee (2013)/Season 01/Banshee.S01E01.720p.HDTV.x264-EVOLVE.mkv
when pressing the 'info' button will appear as:
10.0.1.5:32400/library/parts/18588/file.mkv
which appears to be some kind of internal file identifier, or something.

Hi everyone,
I'll explain the cause of my problem with emplexer v1, so it can be useful for someone else (thanx to newloran2).
My problem : I had the error message "the area ... does not return any xml (404)"
--\> in V1, each movie/file **has to** have a thumbnail on PMS, otherwise you'll have this message on the client.
so check each movie before launching emplexer V1

PS : I'm waiting for the resolution of the php problem I have on V2 like others.

Hello,
I install emplexer plugin from [https://github.com/newloran2/emplexer](https://github.com/newloran2/emplexer) ( [dune\_plugin\_emplexer.zip](https://github.com/newloran2/emplexer/blob/master/dune_plugin_emplexer.zip "dune\_plugin\_emplexer.zip")) on Dune TV-101 and trying to use it on plex-media-server 0.9.11.1 on Gentoo Linux.
I have two problems:
- The delay until video plays after i press the play button can be from 10 to 60 seconds approximately (byt no delays when view collection)
- The quality of video from plex is lower than direct play from samba or dlna. It can be reallly seen on HD films.
Is it can be fixed?

Yes this is the url that any plex client use to stream the video, i'll fix that in a future release.

Very annoying bug, fortunately in v2 it no longer exists.

Hello OverM,
That delayed start is a problem in the way the dune handler videos over http (the default way on emplexer), try to go to setup-\>applications-\>emplexer and configure the connectionType to nfs or smb, with it the playback start is almost instantaneous.
About the quality: This is a VERY strange to me, the emplexer doesn't use PMS transcode in any way, today all playback is a direct playback.
Maybe this is a bug in the way the dune tv-101 handler http videos, try to configure the connection to nfs or smb, maybe this solve your problem.
Anyone else noticed a similar problem in the quality of the video on emplexer?
OverM fell free to question me or suggest any feature you like to see in emplexer.

No, both my 303D and 3D Base uses direct play and has an excellent quality over smb.

hi,
as i can only use v1, which I think won't have any new feature, and as v2 doesn't work for me, i can't see what it looks like & what is missing...
be sure that once i can use v2, i'll ask for any improvment i'll think about !

sorry to ask, but can anybody tell me please which is the latest version of emplexer 2 and where I can download it ?
I already downloaded a version from a link here and also went to github, but the latest version I found was from March 2014....
Are there newer betas available here ?

Ok, I installed the March-version of emplexer2 on my Dune HD Base 3.0 and it's working . Thanks so far for your work !
Since I'm completely new to Plex I just found some confusing things for me in the view. What is coming up (in movies e.g.) are just 8 posters in a row. No additional Information like movie title, and absolutely no chance to see the movie information text which I expected to be on the right side of the screen with a sort of graphical background. Is there any chance to configure the view in a setup ? I tried the red "A" button, but nothing happened. Is this a "normal" behaviour of Plex or are this limitations on a DUNE ?

I don´t find the option to change the connection type to NFS or SMB - in the configuration i can ony change the ip adress and the port. Is that option hidden after complete the setup?

I’m guessing your using v2 and v2 doesn’t support smb or nfs yet.

Hi everyone,
from what I understand, emplexer v2 works successfully for some people, and doesn't for others.
Knowing that no one has the same version of Dune firmware, neither the same Dune hardware, do you think it would be interesting that everyone writes here these parametres and if it works for him or not ?
something like :
"Dune Smart B1 - firmware xxxxxx - OK (or KO)"
so we - and mainly newloran2 - could see in which cases emplexer v2 works and in which cases it doesn't, all this to see finally if we can find a reason why it doesn't work (firmware pb ? hardware incompatibility ?)
what do you think ?

Great tip!!!
Checked out Plex on my Synology and indeed there where some movies without a thumbnail. Updated the lot and now V1 works great for movies as well.
Checked out V2 and noticed that it works with most movies.
I do get the php error on couple of movies (i checked a dozen) and all errors have the mp4 extension. Maybe coincidence.
I've also found out the following:
WMV
VOB Files
BDMV bluray
ISO
Are not supported? At least I don't see them in my movies list. WMV I do but is says unsupported format.
My settings are nfs by the way.
Great plugin anyway, use it a lot with my series! Now movies also.

hi,
vob are not supported (there's a forum about this created a long time ago), so people on thsi forum say we have to use "makemkv" to merge all the vob files in 1 mkv file.
for other extensions, i don't know, but maybe creating also a mkv file from these files can maybe solve the problem...
no ?
can you do a test ?

No, the PMS have all these informations, the client who need to format and display this information as needed.
The V2 skin need some modifications, i will add these modifications at some point , but gui in dune is very limited.
For now i recommend you to use emplexer v1.

Like ktd said, the v2 don't have nfs and smb yet, you need to use emplexer v1 for now.

I like this idea.
I have some suspicions about why some people have these crash (php error) with V2, but with the informations that weyb suggested plus the emplexer2.log i can investigate it better.

You can able to play that wmv on dune without emplexer?
You can please able to send-me your emplexer2.log?

Yes, PMS don't have support to these formats any more, you need to remux your files to a mkv.
I like to bring the support to dvd/bluray formats to v2 (like v1 has), but I could not in any way make the PMS list these files again.

I use emplexer v1 on my dune hd 303d with PMS on syno ds214play. i tested v1 and v2.both have been in full operation.
I like V1 interface for tv shows and movies it's more easy and clearer for me
