When I try to scan channels in my country Panama, plex shows me the options to search for frequencies in Europe. Panama uses the same frequencies as Taiwan.
Please change the frequency range for Panama. Europe dvb-t frequencies show no result
Hi Piocas! In the below zip you will find an INI file:
4641.zip (433 Bytes)
Please add this INI to your Plex Media Server install in the directory Resources\Tuner\Shared\scanners\dvbt\transponders. You should then see the option to scan for frequencies in Panama. Note that the Europe options will still show up in the list until a change is made in PMS. I will get that change and this new INI file into an upcoming release, but this should get you working for now.
Please let me know how this works for you.
Emily
Thanks.
With this ini file, the channel scan is working.
Now with detected channels in the next step to setup EPG I can select a provider to link the channles, but no matter wath provider select to match channles, do not download any guide
There was an error in the first zip I uploaded, so I reuploaded it a few minutes later. Can you confirm you have the right one? The second line of the INI should be 1=4641.
If the file is correct and it’s still not working, please upload your PMS logs so I can take a look. Thanks!
Had copied the first version. I have replaced the ini file, but I still cannot download the EPG.
I do not know how to get a PMS log. Sorry, can you help me ?
Of course! The easiest way to collect the logs is in the Web App. Go to Settings > Manage > Troubleshooting and there will be a Download Logs button. You can upload the logs here or DM them to me if you prefer.
Hi Piocas,
Thanks for providing your logs! It looks like we don’t have any guide data for the lineup you selected: Cable Onda Panama Digital. In fact, it does not appear we have data for any of the Panama lineups except Cable & Wireless Panama (IPTV) Panama City Digital. Could you try that lineup instead and see if it will work for you? You’ll need to delete and recreate your DVR to select the new lineup.
As you can see, our guide data is lacking for some countries. For this reason, we will be changing providers in the near future. You can read more about this change here: Announcement: State of EPG & TV metadata in Plex. Unfortunately, the new provider will not have data for Panama, so you will need to use XMLTV instead. You may prefer to start using XMLTV now, as you will have to make the switch in the near future anyway. Here are instructions for setting up XMLTV: https://support.plex.tv/articles/using-an-xmltv-guide/.
Please let me know if you are able to get your DVR up and running.
Emily
Perfect. Is working with Cable & Wireless Panama (IPTV) Panama City Digital
If the new provider will not support Panama, It is posible to run live tv without EPG? only a channel list to play
Great! I’m happy to hear it is now working.
Currently, there is no way to run Live TV without EPG. We hope to add that feature in the future, but for now, you’ll have to switch over to XMLTV when we move to the new provider. If you can’t find a good XMLTV source for Panama, you could just fake the data yourself. Something simple, like 24-hour airings for each channel, would be enough for PMS to use as the guide.
