# DVR recordings to separate location

Hello, I am curious if I can set the location that the DVR is recording to. My NAS is almost full, and it seems that the DVR is consuming the NAS space. I want to set it to record to an external HD. Thanks.

Just create a new library in Plex using whatever folder you want, then set your recordings to use that library.

You can also add additional folders to an existing library. When you set up new recordings (or edit existing ones) the additional folders will be available via the “Location” drop-down allowing you to pick your desired folder for the recording.
