They don’t even need an account for you to send them an invite. You’ll just need to tell them that as part of accepting your invitation, they’ll be asked to create a Plex account. That… and to resist the offer to download / install a server of their own. My mom is literally not a technology/computer person and that did the job for her 😉 # If you want something more fancy… include some links to support articles (not sure that’ll help) 1. You will receive an e-mail that contains a link to confirm this invitation. Click on that link… this will open a website and you will be asked to create a Plex Account. Once you have your account, please configure it to meet your preferences under [Settings \> Account](https://app.plex.tv/desktop#!/settings/account) - Set your preferred `Language` for the Web UI - Select your preferred language in the `Audio & Subtitle Settings` - Enable or disable the `Plex Newsletter` - Do not click on `Delete your account` unless you really want to delete it 😉 4. Plex provides a number of free online media sources (some of them are ad supported). There’s no need to download a Plex Media Server (unless you want to start organizing your own media) 7. Beyond “Plex Web” there’s other players you can use to watch my media or the Plex online media sources… - You can download a dedicated app for your computer (it’s free) [https://www.plex.tv/media-server-downloads/#plex-app](https://www.plex.tv/media-server-downloads/#plex-app) - You can download a home theater version of the desktop player (also free) This one is a little tricker to get – there’s a download link in the latest post of their forum [Plex Media Player](https://forums.plex.tv/t/plex-media-player/120475/) - There’s apps for your TV (Apple TV, Android TV, Roku, some smart TVs – also free) - There’s apps for your mobile devices (phones, tablets) – those are available in the respective app stores… however they’re not free (there’s a one-time charge of approx. 5$ unless you have a Plex Pass) 9. You can do me a favor and try to play the media in `Original Quality` whenever you can… this will help me keep my electrical bill under control – if you bring my server to its knees, I might need to kick you out (or worse, throttle your streaming quality) 11. Please stick to the rules and e.g. don’t share your account with the videos I’m sharing with you. _This is my Plex Media Server. There are many others like it, but this one is mine. My Plex Media Server is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life. Without me, my Plex Media Server is empty. Without my server, I have nothing to watch (well… sort of). I must properly treat my Plex Media Server. [skipping the part about shooting the enemy before he kills me… that doesn’t properly translate to a media server] Before God I swear this creed: my Plex Media Server and myself are defenders against Corona driven boredom, we are the master of a lonely evening on my couch, we are the saviors of my life.
