Lately, I’ve been thinking about upgrading my current Plex Media Server (an Nvidia SHIELD) to a more powerful PC rig, but I noticed that there’s no easy way to transfer my preferences and settings over to a new system, so if I upgraded, I’d basically have to rebuild my server from scratch (adding media, changing covers to my liking, setting TV shows to record, changing server settings, etc). I was wondering if there was any way to add a special code or series of codes that hold these settings. That would make it infinitely easier to upgrade my system. ---

There is no _easy_ way to transfer from one OS to another. File paths are different. Settings storage areas are different. However, there is a nice KB that gives basics of what’s needed for same old OS to new oS. There is unfortunately no way to copy the settings from a nVidia Shield device. They are stored in a special area of memory where users don’t have access (unless the device is ‘jailbroken’). The “fun” of using Android. ---
