You can kinda cheat if you don’t have a Plex pass. Before the editions feature was available, I used the “Split Apart” function instead. What I’d do is after two different versions of the same movie matched and merged together, I’d set “Split Apart” and then set the one that was NOT theatrical as the unmatched movie. Then I’d customize the art and the title to indicate it was a different edition. Now you have two listings. The unmatched one just won’t show up in some of the discovery stuff nor will it update metadata. Occasionally, it might “rematch” and you’ll have to split again but I haven’t had that problem very often. In some cases, I would also create a collection to put the two versions together that way it’d look like one movie while browsing the library but open it up and you’d see both versions. Hope they fix that soon. ---
