# Einplatinen-Computer für Plex

Hallo Community,
aktuell nutze ich meinen Rechner zusätzlich als PLEX Server und möchte demnächst eine stromsparende Alternative aufbauen.
Da kamen mir die Einplatinencomputer mit einem LINUX OS in den Sinn. Ob es jetzt ein Raspberry PI oder oder ODROID wird, bin ich mir unsicher.
Daher würde ich gerne wissen, welche Leistung der Server so braucht. Er soll auf jeden Fall 1080p und in Zukunft auf vermehrt 4K Filme streamen.
Reicht dafür ein z.B ein ODRIOD 4XU oder ein Raspberry 3?

Beide reichen, wenn nichts transkodiert werden muss. Sobald auch nur der Ton nicht direkt gestreamt werden kann, ist Ende mit den Kleincomputern.

Ich würde dir da eher etwas wie ein ASRock J5005-ITX empfehlen.

@Coxeroni Ton ist kein Problem mit dem Raspberry PI.
@c_sieg_spam_googlemail_com ich hab einen rpi 3 als Zweitserver, solang man nicht Video transcoden muß absolut kein Problem.

Mit einem Plex Pass kommt man relativ schnell in eine Situation wo transcodiert werden muss.
Stichwort Mobile Sync und Live TV/DVR.

ich habe es selbst noch nicht versucht, aber du kannst dich sicher mal bei PCENGINES umschauen. Die haben eine embedded Hardware mit 1Ghz Quadcore, 4GB RAM und 64bit Unterstützung.
Das ganze bei 10 Watt Leistungsaufname 😉

Aber trancodieren ist mit einem INTEL NUC definitiv besser.
Alternativen zum selber Zusammenbauen gibts auch bei SHUTTLE Computer (einfach googlen)
