Plex doesn’t manipulate your media files. That’s been a core premise of using PMS from the very early days. There’s an existing suggestion asking for an option to write metadata / tags back to the files where you could vote in order not to cannibalize votes… but then again, Plex have stated many times they have no intention to change their stance on not manipulating original media files… > [@\[Feature Request\] Metadata Write Back](https://forums.plex.tv/t/feature-request-metadata-write-back/119947): > > I would like to see an optional item in libraries to write metadata changes back to the original media files.
