I am considering switching from Tivo to using my plex server as a DVR for OTA TV. I would be buying the HD Homerun flex 4k. What I want to know is where does that guide and program data come from and how reliable and well is it updated? The issue I’m having with Tivo is every time a broadcaster adds, changes or removes a subchannel I have to submit a line up change request to Tivo and it takes them 3 - 4 weeks and sometimes they never get it right.
I want to change to something that is more ready for the future with ATSC 3.0 too so that is why I have some interest this.

Well it seems like I found the answer to my own question.
Looks like TiVo supplied the data up to december 2020. Now it comes from Gracenote.
I guess will have to get an HDHomerun and experiment with it to see if I like how it works better than the Tivo Roamio OTA.

I wouldn’t bother, the DVR offering is bugged to the hilt and has been for a loooooong time. Much like the rest of Plex.
I say this from a few years of persevering to no avail.
