So I have a bunch of Wild Kratts Episodes that aren’t being named correctly. Before you say they likely aren’t numbered correctly, they are. I have compared the file names and data listed on TVDB and IMDB. An example is Wild Kratts Season 4 Episode 3. TVDB lists it as “Box Turtled In”, which is correct, as does IMDB. Plex with the new agent is listing it as Creature Christmas Part 1… I have no idea where it is pulling this information from. I can change my files to match wherever it is getting the data. I just can’t figure out where that is… Any suggestions?

So it seems that it is in fact marking the episode as the correct number in the interface… just the name is wrong and I can’t figure out why. I mean, I can manually just change it. I just don’t get where it is getting the data as it doesn’t match tvdb.

For reference I even tried matching manually using the tvdb id. And the episode names STILL don’t match.

MP4 Files?

New Agent:
Edit the Library/Advanced/Disable: Prefer Local Metadata.
(then Refresh Metadata)

Old Agents:
Make the Switch.
The Old Agents are almost deprecated - and will receive no further updates.

General Note:
Name like TVDB.
Don’t name like IMDB.

New Agent. MKV Files. Checked and no meta data in the files. And disabled local metadata.
Named like TVDB, still pulling wrong title.

Tried Fix Match yet?

That’ll be a little confusing, but it has helped me recently - for a show that appeared to be matched, but was ‘odd’.

Yeah. I manually even did it to tvdb-216851. So its in theory supposed to match the one I’m reading.

How are the files named and structured - exactly?

Show us that, then do the Hail Mary:

[Plex Dance](https://forums.plex.tv/t/the-plex-dance/197064) the entire show - and do check everything very closely while the show is ‘invisible’ to Plex (not in the library structure):

This helps when you want to “start from scratch” for particular item move all files for the media item out of the directory your Library is looking at, so Plex will not “see” it anymore scan the library library (to detect changes) empty trash clean bundles (in menu next to server name, when accessed under ‘More’) double check naming schema and move files back scan the library Support articl…

Recommendation:

1. It’s not named `Wild` , with Episode spec `Kratts` (watch the delimiters)

2. standard naming works instantly (you’re over using the “.”)

Yea… I’ve seen that too.
(I don’t trust your file naming - I use FileBot - Filebot and I have a 99% success rate)

I think it’s time to call an expert - so we’ll call the guy that invented it:
@drzoidberg33

Could be some mystic intermingling of an EPG - or a loose wire.
The Expert can take it from here.

Calling the dev isn’t necessary in this case.

The naming needs correcting as well as a Dance after.

What happens if you just change this to `TheTVDB (Aired)` order for that show?

Pretty sure this is some incorrect data on our proxy for that show

Tried all of the above EXCEPT changing the naming. That’s non-trivial right this second. But I’ll try that later. Most of the rest of the episodes are correct. Also it is correctly interpreting the number of the episode, but not the title. Which to me seems more metadata issues than anything else… I would buy naming issues IF the episode numbering was also off, but the numbering is correct. Incorrect cache data seems plausible.

How do I fix the cache issue? Changing the ordering didn’t seem to fix it.

@efaden

Having a mass renaming tool is a very good thing to have with PMS whether it be “The Renamer”, “FileBot” or one of several others.

The key features you’re looking for are:

1. Ability to create the format as you need them (Plex style)
2. Verification by the program against TMDB, TheTVDB when mapping your existing names to proposed new names. This allows you to verify a 100% match success rate when done.

@efaden

If you decide to get FileBot, here are the rules I use.

Movie mode: `/nas/movies/{n} ({y}/{n} ({y})`
Episode mode: `/nas/tv/{n}/Season {s.pad(2)}/{n} - {s00e00} - {t}`

the macros are:

`n` = Name
`y` = Year
`s` = Season number , `.pad(2)` means to pad season number string to 2 digits
`s00e00` = Standard `SxxExx` numbering for the episode file. (extensible)
`t` = Episode title

but looks through this topic i don’t see where you said which agent you are using for the library.
If you the `Plex TV Series` with the episode order for `TVDB Aired` it is wrong somewhere. but if you use `TheMovieDatabse (Aired)` for that show it looks correct.
