Version 4.77.3
Good Day all,
I am running ESXi 7.0U2 on my host and have a Windows Server 2016 Server running Plex. I have an Nvidia Quadro P4000 installed in the host and am using ESXi to do a PCIe Passthrough to the Plex VM.
I am aware that Plex does not support Hardware-accelerated Transcoding on a VM and if Plex is running as a Windows Service. In the transcoding options, I do not see the option to enable Hardware-accelerated Transcoding.
Is there a way to force this option as the entire GPU is passed through to the machine? Or is there a way to trick Plex to think that it running on Physical Hardware so I can enable this feature?
I have also not found any reason that Hardware-Accelerated transcoding would be removed from virtual machines when GPU passthrough and VGPU are very valid technologies that have existed for some time now.
Thanks!
