# ETA for AV1 Decode support on Windows?

Player Version#: 2026.3.0 (1604)
Computer: Asus Nuc Pro 14+.
CPU: Intel Core Ultra 5 125H
iGPU: Intel Arc Graphics
RAM: 32 GB DDR5
Hi, i’d like to know if there is an ETA for AV1 Decode support on windows 11.
A year ago we were told it was going to be supported with the new updated version of FFMPEG. It still does not work.
I have lots and lots of movies in 4K AV1 format, and if someone needs to transcode it the server is doing the decode in software even if my iGPU fully supports AV1 decoding and encoding in hardware, and this is making the CPU go 100% just for decoding the movie. The encoding to H265 is done fully in hardware, just not the decoding.
Any ETA for this? Thanks.
