With the new update the player changed the language to my local installation, but I would like to switch back to english or another language of my choosing and see so far no setting for that.

Just to verify… is this about your personal preferences or an issue with a specific translation?

You can use the iOS System Settings for that. Just open it and scroll to Plexamp, there you can choose your preferred Language for that app. (This works for most apps btw)

Personal preference. It is poor accessibility to force a language to the OS language. I use Windows. Speaking multiple languages some are preferred differently.

@Wunderwally : thanks for sharing that… I didn’t know you can do that.

However, for this option to be available, you first need to add a second/multiple languages in your language preferences (even if you keep your primary language unchanged).

`Settings` \> `General` \> `Language & Region` \> `Add Language`

The latest release (available shortly) includes a setting to switch language within the app on desktop. As noted above, on both Android and iOS this was already possible in the OS’s settings 🙂

Where is the app specific setting for languages on android? I have looked through the app settings on my phone and I can’t find them.

If you mean I have to change the OS wide language setting, I would very much request you reconsider that design decision.

Other than that I find the translation in some parts (for lack of a better word) kinda cringe, it makes looking up settings and terms harder since information online is generally in English.

According to Google, this is how you change the language for individual apps.

Thanks for the link, apparently it’s a feature that’s new to android 13. I tried the steps in the link and couldn’t find it. It appears oneplus hasn’t implemented that option in their version of android 13.

I would suggest not depending on a feature like this before it’s widely implemented. Besides this oneplus issue (and possibly other manufacturers have done this as well), there are plenty people that have devices that haven’t (yet) gotten an android 13 update.

According to the release notes of Plexamp 4.7.4, there should be an in-app option for older Android releases. Any chance you have `Settings` \> `Language` as an option within Plexamp?
