I keep different folders for different movies. One of my main folders I use is New movies and watched movies. I have so many movies, rather than looking at the flags I like to only see unwatched without having to change the filter. After I watch them, they are moved to the watched folder. Its just the wife and I as I keep the kids movies in their own folders. I would like to see if an option to move the movie file directly in plex, kind of like the delete option. Since all of these folders are already identified as a source in the plex server, then a drop down should be achievable. This is kinda of an OCD request…

There are two similar existing requests. Do either take care of your requirements?

> [@\[Feature Request\] Moving media between libraries without losing metadata using UI](https://forums.plex.tv/t/feature-request-moving-media-between-libraries-without-losing-metadata-using-ui/587567):

> Yes, there is a [How To](https://forums.plex.tv/t/howto-plex-database-modification-moving-media-the-right-wrong-way/126701) and even a [Support Article](https://support.plex.tv/articles/201154537-move-media-content-to-a-new-location/) but both don’t always work (especially keeping edited metadata) - or require many manual steps. Judging from the years of support requests/questions about this topic, there’s enough interest to warrant a renewed look at this. Can’t this be added to the User Interface to make it easier? Pretty please? It will be nice to finally get a feature that makes it easier to manage libraries for a change!

> [@\[Feature request\] I would like a feature to move, separate, combine, or split libraries in Plex via a wizard](https://forums.plex.tv/t/feature-request-i-would-like-a-feature-to-move-separate-combine-or-split-libraries-in-plex-via-a-wizard/687213):

> Reasoning: As my Plex library grows I would like the ability to rearrange the contents via a wizard that is easy and keeps all of the custom settings that have accumulated in the database for these items (what’s been watched, custom posters, collections, sort titles, and items I had to manually match). Example: I originally created a library called ‘DVD Movies’ and put all of my DVD movie stuff in this one library, but now I would like to have an additional library called ’ DVD Animated/Cartoon…

Unless I missed something, this doesn’t fully match what I was requesting. While I can move these files manually using file explorer, I would like to be able to do from plex remote myself. Im looking for an option to use remote, say on apple tv and move it to another already created Library. I can do similar file explorer like tasks, including delete files or match duplicates and delete. So a move would be a great option.

I think this one might be a full match with what you’re looking for.

> Hi Boys and girls, as the title suggests, i would like an automated way to move my watched tv shows to a different disk, this is because i am running out of space on my tv shows disk, however i have lots of spare ones that i would like to archive watched shows to. I started to write a powershell script to achieve this but my skills very quickly ran out. I have the very latest PHT running on a Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard box. Any help would be appreciated.
