# Feature Request: subtitle synching

Different versions of the same video may have different timings, but the automatic subtitle feature in Plex will download a subtitle file from [opensubtitles.org](http://opensubtitles.org) (or wherever) which may not match the particular version of the video being played. There needs to be a player control to time-shift subtitles by a few seconds either way. My old Western Digital set-top box had this in 2010, but Plex still doesn’t have it.

A request for the same feature exists already, and it has more votes.
