Featured/Recommended Movies

watch-later

#1

For real Plex. When are you going to make it easy for us to "Recommend" or "Highlight" movies or other content on our plex servers?

It should be as easy in any client or web browser just to click "Recommend" or "Highlight" and it should then pop up at the first page (Dock) in a new section called "Featured" or "Recommended". I want to be able to highlight or recommended movies. This is NOT hard to implement!

Are you going to fix this?!

#2

I'm talking about highlighting or recommending content from our own server.

#3

I agree this feature is a disaster. Very complicated. The only thing I've been able to recommend is videos I've book marked from YouTube. There needs to be a way to recommend stuff from our libraries to other family members

#4

How can this featured not be available yet? So simple, so elegant...!

#5

This is hands-down my most wanted feature. This is also not the only thread asking this question. Hear us PLEX team :)

#6

PLEX Team, wake up! =)

#7

PLEX Incorporated, really, this is something the users need. They might not know they need it yet, but once they have it, they will use it and they will love it.

#8

I don't understand how this simple and AMAZING feature isn't implemented yet...

#9

Yes indeed. When viewing my library I sometimes see something it's like to watch but don't have time now, I should be able to mark it (on any device)

#10

I also would like to have a way to flag items from my server to watch later. I currently use a note card and #2 pencil and a lot of times I can't find one of those two hardware items in my theater at the moment I need them. Please build this function in.

#11

PLEX this is still a wanted update! Don't let us down!!!

#12

+1 This is still something that would be an awesome addition!

#13

+1, My parents complain that the library is too big to search through from their TV. It would be nice to be able to highlight a few movies for them.

#14

+1 Am I the only one beginning to think the Plex Team has decided to leave the forums.. :-(

#15

Just a guess, but I'm thinking that the silence in this direction is probably because it's in the pipeline but it requires a whole bunch of app upgrades and such to be able to implement.

God do I wish there was a self-curated "featured" section where you could put movies and add a personal description for them (or just I suppose add it to the existing metadata.)

I'd be more inclined to think they are trying to add more and more major features to draw new users in, rather than refine and improve the core product. I, too, just want to be able to recommend something for my brother or my good friend, or all my users.

Let me brand it in a way that might perk up any PLEX employee reading this: SOCIAL! We need SOCIAL!

#17

PLEX, WAKE UP! What are you doing? Why have you not yet implemented this awesome and simple feature?

#18

Do anyone use this feature? Is it even possible to use it?

The feature everyone expects is this: When looking at an item, it being a video, movie, tv-show, season or episode -> The recommend button should allow you to select users on your server, and click send.

The way the feature is now is mainly a taunt. It should be removed until it works in a way we can understand.

The feature we have right now is only meant for online videos. The naming is confusing, I give you that, but it should not be removed at all in my opinion.
