# File downloads/save for managed users

I have a managed user that would like to have the ability to save my media to their own windows 11 PC. when I choose the admin user, i can select save file and the browser will download the media to the web browser location. when I choose any of my other managed users they do not get the choice to save the file or download the file. I have the managed user set to allow downloads. Whayt else to I have to do to make this work?

The [Save File](https://support.plex.tv/articles/201018507-download-media/) option in the web app is only available to the server admin. The “real” [download feature](https://support.plex.tv/articles/downloads-overview/) only works on the (non-web) desktop/mobile apps, and you’ll need a Plex Pass.

No, your managed users will have to use the [dedicated desktop app](https://www.plex.tv/media-server-downloads/#plex-app) or Android/iOS app to download content from your server.
