@sa2000 will the regionalised properly named channels be added to the lineups also, as I’ve disabled TV this side at the moment due to way to many complaints from my family members that channels are missing or wrong because of channel ID naming and the whole algorithms thing has begun to put me off totally… Can we use an algorithm to get a different Plex Member to give us a different answer to? Or hasn’t this been enabled either?
Cannot give you general statements. If you have a specific problem with a lineup/post code please give details of that and what is wrong - to continue to give general statements does not help identify the specific errors.
The channel mapping issue was to do with some recent changes for Freeview that came in May and June and the initial guide data provided to us predates that. Our provider is addressing this and adjustments have already been made - not completely and it is possible the corrections did not go into all lineups - hence the need for specifics to be raised and the form is the best vehicle as there is a process in place picking these up and dealing with them
The other issue is to do with National lineups being pre-selected when you go through setup - but you can override that and select a different OTA lineup
I have just looked at your reporting tool for EPG issues, it does not even ask what country you are in, what City, State & Region should I put for the UK, I don’t live in a City or a State, I could probably guess a region.
So you’ve answered my question in 1 sentence! I posted to the new EPG reports page, and I get ignored but another gets seen… Singled out yet again, Plex is definitely going to the graveyard of Media Servers if this carries on here.
I’ve posted number of channel, and name of channels missing, plus the fact that it is in all lineups not just the one in question. Look up my username, you’ll see I put a report in also.
But then again, I’m used to being singled…
Note to self, drop TV side of Plex as a bad Apple… Use the 3 dongles for other projects
I can live with having a national lineup instead of a local one for the moment, not sure how this affetcs Scotland/Wales/NI, but for me it’s only the local news thats wrong
Thanks, probably not a priority at the moment but could you ask for the EPG report channel lineup issues webpage to be made more international friendly going forward?
There is a process dealing with the feedback. You may not hear but your input will be processed together with all the other - if you give specifics, it will help, If you make general statements - it may not
It should be better now - if you select the Freeview Scotland (Border) OTA Broadcast lineup.
Our provider made corrections but there appear to be some errors which we are reporting back to them
These appear to be the remaining errors for the range of channel numbers you covered above
So that’s the borders, the Valleys of South Wales that get TV from Wenvoe still have cryptic names etc and channels all in the wrong places, on the OTA DTT EPG lineup and the others to… I’m sticking to the OTA one because I thought this would be the closest match… Till I found Wales has been pulled apart and put in Northern Ireland and Scottish Borders… Now geography wasn’t the best for me at school, but I know South Wales hasn’t budged towards either section the UK!!
I still have no screenshots from you to prove that you did not have a National OTA lineup selected
It defaults to an incorrect lineup (and I said that several times) but if you override that and select your Freeview Wales OTA Broadcast lineup, you will not see Scotland or Northern Ireland
what post code have you entered and what OTA lineup
screenshot please
There are two OTA lineups - one of them - the National one - may give you Northen Ireland and Scotland - but the Wales one should not
@sa2000 I will provide screenshots later this evening once my kids are in bed. I’ve noticed one thing that will make Plex’s job a little harder for this part of South Wales!
We get our TV from 2 transmitters, Tonyrefail in CF39 8AG and the main Wenvoe Transmitter in Cardiff!
This between 2 transmitters gives 171 channels, of which around 145 are viewable on Plex as they’re not streaming channels or text channels. I’m currently using the DVR—FreeView Play Wales IPTV lineup as at the time this was the best one, but now seems not to be the case! It’s missing channels etc, especially the movie channels and has cryptic names to boot!
My kids are happy that Tiny Pop is back, this channel is Broadcast from the Tonyrefail Transmitter, along with some other channels, if you’d like a complete list of channels from the Tonyrefail Transmitter along with the Wenvoe Transmitter, I’ll send you these?
I would like to help make line TV easier to use for everyone around the Valleys, if you also check on the web, there are other relays around the Valleys here that transmit the channels that Wenvoe does not, and this could be the deal breaker for other users.
Now that you are saying your are not using the Freeview Wales OTA Broadcast i do not need any screenshots. The outcomes when using an iptv lineup or any other non OTA lineup for terrestrial would be indeterminate. I was under the impression you are using the OTA line up because you kept on saying that
@sa2000 My apologies for the misunderstanding of this, but you were the one that always told me that I was to use any Lineup that was closest a while ago. So later this evening I will delete the current DVR and add a DVR with the OTA Wales one.
Are there any missing channels on this Lineup? compared to this list that is viewable from this location according to Freeview?
These are all the channels I can get from Wenvoe & Tonyrefail. As I said I’ve come to the conclusion that I’ve got to help fix the issue quick. Note that there is no RTE channels in the 50’s…
It’s a list that was updated 2 days ago for Wenvoe transmitter and should do away with using the dreaded Algorithm thing that is currently being enforced and possibly the reason why the UK channels are getting cryptic names and regions are getting the wrong channels.
The site above also gives the entire regions for the UK to, so adding regions should be easier now too???
Hi,
Removed and re-added DVR to test.
Would you like me to report inaccuracies again in the form?
1 Channel still mapped to the wrong location (not mentioned in your post) and 1 Channel only available in Scotland still missing in SD and HD from the EPG.
Oh and - despite using the same postcode as before (which before correctly selected the Scotland (Border) lineup), this time the same postcode selected the London national lineup.
