# Genres suddenly gone

Frankly i’ve had this really stupid issue with not being able to stop plex from just automatically changing albums metadata, which is ALWAYS incorrect, than just relying on my correct tags. But suddenly almost al of my genres got wiped.
I check the metadata of the music files themselves and in other media players and the data is there but plex after a recent server update decided that those genres don’t need to exist.
so whats up with that. is there any way i can make plex just read the metadata instead of constantly trying to insert its own?

What is this setting set to, when you edit the library?

it’s set to embedded tags, i clicked plex music then clicked back to embedded and saved changes and then rescanned library but it still isn’t doing the genres.
