Getting Plex server on OSX working with Raumfeld Connector 2

server-dlna

#1

Hi all,
I've recently acquired a Raumfeld Connector 2. However, it doesn't seem to be able to successfully scan the Plex server on my Mac, despite adding a profile that has been suggested will do the trick. I know that the profile is loaded and picked up when then device tries to scan.
I am only trying to do audio, but I'm getting some suspicious entries in the logfile, a chunk of which is reproduced below.
The bit that is concerning me is "Direct Play is disabled"
Any ideas what causes that kind of thing?
Thanks!

The Raumfeld Connector (RC) cannot use the Plex Media Server to play music. RC recognizes the Plex media server, but is not able to scan its content. I solved the issue by using MiniDLNA as a media server on my OpenMediaVault NAS. The RC is able to scan and play the music content of MiniDLNA.

Alas, MiniDLNA is not the final solution either. With MiniDLNA multi-CD albums are not sorted by disc and then track number, but by track number only. The solution I am using now is to use file sharing over the network.
