# Giant metadata

Player Version#: n/a
giant lot of Album metadata. Is there a way to reduce the size?
IE: if it delete it, would it auto-rebuild and be smaller.
Or is this a “don’t touch grasshopper” situation.?!

It’s pretty much a “don’t touch” situation.
The Plex data folder contains the database as well as a lot of artwork (for movies e.g. also video thumbs). If you’re desperate for the file space – you could disable some features that require a lot of disc space from within Plex (e.g. `Generate video preview thumbnails` or `Generate chapter thumbnails` in `Settings` \> `[Server Name]` \> `Library`).

those have both been disabled. and I ran optimize and trash empty too.
