Server Version#: 4.53.0 (macOS) Player Version#: 5.11.1 (LG webOS) Hello! I am having a problem playing HDR video and it’s driving me NUTS! I have HDR 4K Blu-ray rips on my Plex Media Server, and as of a few weeks ago they played in HDR perfectly on my LG C9 OLED TV. The Plex app would turn on the HDR flag just as expected, and I could watch the movies in HDR. However, over the last week, I haven’t been able to play HDR content _in_ HDR anymore! Every time I play an HDR film, the TV doesn’t switch into HDR mode, and I get a tonemapped SDR version instead. I have verified that it’s playing in the original 4K quality, and that it’s set to direct play. Still nothing. No matter what I try, no HDR content on my Plex server will switch my TV into HDR mode anymore. I’m having this problem with both HDR10 and Dolby Vision content. Weeks ago, they both played perfectly and switched the TV into the proper HDR modes. But not anymore. I can’t figure out how to fix this! I updated to the latest version of Plex Media Server about a week ago, so that’s the only thing I can think of that could have caused this problem. I’m regretting updating now! Any ideas for how to fix this? I just want to watch HDR content in native HDR. ---

I’m having this same problem and just made a post about it earlier today. But I’m on the NVIDIA Shield. ---

Glad I’m not the only one, but I just hope Plex gets this fixed ASAP! I’m convinced it’s a bug in the current version of PMS. It’s so annoying! ---

I think it’s definitely a bug. VLC was playing everything fine and triggering HDR. I disabled audio pass through on the shield and Plex is saying it’s doing a direct play but I know it’s not. Turned off tone mapping on the server and got the washed out look of Rec2020 in Rec709…and the transcode errors of course! ---

It’s like you’re taking the words out of my mouth! Haha. I’m having the exact same experience. VLC recognizes everything as Rec.2020 for me, and when I tweak turn off the tonemapping setting in PMS, I only get the washed out, non-tonemapped version. It still refuses to trigger HDR mode on my TV. So annoying! ---

Are there any Plex employees who could file this as a bug? I really hope this gets fixed in the next PMS update. I watch HDR video all the time, so it’s HUGE issue for me now that it’s broken in Plex. ---
