[Help] How do I get PLEX to add all files in a folder to my Library?

Can somebody help me with an issue related to adding TV series episodes to my PLEX Library?

Allow me to describe the issue:

Situation

  • I have a TV series existing of 366 episodes on my 2nd drive on my PC
  • All files are .MKV files
  • All files play in VLC
  • According to the TVDB the series has 366 episodes

Issue

  • When scanning for this series, only 267 files appear

My attemps to solve this

  • Move the files to a different folder outside the original folder, and scan again
  • Delete the Library, create a new one, and add the folder
  • Delete the Library, re-instate everything to its original location, and create a new Library
  • Delete PLEX, reboot PC and install PLEX

None of this works. I always get the same result: only 267 episodes appear. One curious observation: random files don’t show up in my Library. My file marked as EP99, is not EP99 according to PLEX.

Hope you guys can help!

PS: if this is the wrong Forum, my apoligies.

Which tv show is it?
How are your files named?
Did you heed the required subfolder organization for tv shows in plex?

Hi Otto. Thank you for replying. The sub folder organization actually solved my issue! I created sub folder for each season as it is listed on TVDB and this has solved the issue. The split-up on PLEX into 5 season as opposed to 16 is a bit weird, but it works!
