Hi,
I’ve added new music (mp3) files to my server into existing files which are already part of my plex library. They are in the same format as files already in the library. I’m able to see them and play them via File Station. However, they don’t show up in Plex.
I’ve run several library scans, restarted the NAS and run library scans. Still no luck. Any guidance would be appreciated.
First thing to check on a Linux OS is file permissions.
If that checks out and the problem is still there, you’ll need to grab the logs (Settings>Troubleshooting) and post them so someone can take a look.
While Synology DSM is built on Linux, it is not always best for the first solution to be digging into the command line on a Synology. Simpler solutions could resolve the issue.

Please use the Synology methods (their GUI tools) before employing the more hands-on Linux methods.
Yes, the Linux methods will work however you will be committed to using them from that moment forward. You’ll find yourself always having permission problems and needing to adjust every item added
